Vitax Fruit Tree Grease is a great product for monitoring and protecting against pest activity on fruit and other trees. A sticky substance containing Rapeseed oil, Fruit Tree Grease is an effective means of stopping pests, such as the Winter Moth and Mottled Umber Moth, in their tracks as they try and climb the trunks of trees from October to early December. Protection is also provided against the March Moth, which invades in early spring.
Vitax Fruit Tree Grease works by trapping the wingless, female adults giving a good indication of the level of infestation on each tree.
The grease should be applied completely around the trunk of the tree at approximately 45cm above the ground. Re-apply as required to maintain stickiness.

How to Use
- Preparation: Ensure the tree trunk is clean and free from loose bark or debris where the grease will be applied.
- Application: Using a brush, apply Vitax Fruit Tree Grease around the entire circumference of the tree trunk at a height of approximately 45cm (18 inches) above the ground.
- Coverage: Make sure the application is thorough and even to create a continuous sticky barrier.
- Maintenance: Check the grease periodically and re-apply as necessary to maintain stickiness and effectiveness.
Where to Use
- Fruit Trees: Particularly effective for apple, pear, and plum trees.
- Other Trees: Can also be used on ornamental trees to prevent pest infestations.
When to Apply
- Autumn: Apply the grease in September or October to intercept pests such as the Winter Moth and Mottled Umber Moth as they attempt to climb the trees.
- Early Spring: Re-apply the grease in February to provide protection against the March Moth.
- Ongoing Maintenance: Re-apply as required to maintain effectiveness throughout the season.
